The virtual Agreement on Southeast Asian Regional Office of Astronomy for Development (SEA-ROAD) was signed for another 6 year of extension between the International Astronomical Union (IAU) - represented by Kevin Govender, OAD Director and Saran Poshyachinda, NARIT Executive Director.
NARIT has been hosting SEA-ROAD since 2012, with 65 focused activities and reached out to 4,065 people trained in Southeast Asia and beyond. The ceremony was witnessed virtually by Teresa Lago, IAU General Secretary and colleagues across Southeast Asia.
The IAU and NARIT are committed to strive towards regional and global development, by using astronomy as a tool through human capacity building, innovation and infrastructure programs.
