Public Outreach
Princess Sirindhorn AstroPark
Center of excellence in astronomical research and development for Thailand and Southeast Asia. A collection of arts, sciences, technology and related innovations. A place to study, research, incubate and foster researchers in astrophysics. An information center, training, transferring astronomical technology and organizing astronomical activities. The most complete astrophysical attraction in Thailand.
Regional Observatories for the Public
NARIT is implementing the construction of five regional observatories for the public in Nakhon Ratchasima, Chachoengsao, Songkhla, Khon Kaen, and Phitsanulok. The goal is to establish these observatories as centers for astronomical learning for the public and local educational institutions. They will support astronomical academic services for the community, assist in the teaching and learning processes of educational institutions, and serve as significant academic tourism destinations in the regions.
NARIT Public Night
"NARIT Public Night" is a stargazing event that offers the public an opportunity to observe celestial objects through various telescopes installed on the observatory's viewing terrace, including the 0.7-meter telescope, the third largest in Thailand. The event is guided by staff who introduce participants to basic stargazing, including observing celestial objects with the naked eye, finding north using constellations, measuring angular distances in the sky, and learning about zodiac constellations and other interesting stars visible that night. The event is free and open to the public.
