Astronomy has become Data Intensive science in recent years. With the construction of even larger telescopes and experiments such as Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) and Square Kilometre Array (SKA). The data processing will need more computing power and better data handling models. Furthermore, complex model fittings, optimizations and simulations are common for modern astronomy and astrophysics studies that are making use of HPC more and more in recent years. Current works and collaboration at NARIT includes Big Data handling and machine learning of the GOTO (Gravitational-wave Optical Transient Observatory), Physics simulations and EMF (Earth Magnetic Field) shield design and optimization for JUNO (Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory) and Data Intensive Astronomy for radio astronomy in collaboration with ICRAR (International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research) whom responsible for the SKA Science Data Processing (SDP) pipeline.
