Bounty of ASEAN sky brings in much-anticipated MoU between NARIT and VNSC

Prof. Boonrucksar Soonthornthum, Executive Director of the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) brings on his expertise and experience of his long-devoted career in astronomy to synergise the dynamic ASEAN with a bilateral MoU between the institute and the Vietnamese National Satellite Centre (VNSC). The MoU approach is perceived as one of the mechanisms deployed to empower the regional astronomy, following the previous successful MoU signed with the Philippines, Lao PDR, and Myanmar, just to name a few.

NARIT va français avec “NARIT – Institut d’Optique Graduate School Optical Design Summer School 2016.”

As August kicks in with the pouring rain in Chiang Mai, though it doesn’t relinquish young researchers, Master and PhD Students, and NARIT’s very own Public Outreach team in the total of 26 to embrace themselves joining this one-of-a-kind workshop. The main objectives revolve around an initiation of the optical design methods relating to imaging instruments as participants were introduced intimately to the exclusive ZEMAX software usage.

New Era Beckons New Collaborations Ahead between NARIT and University of Mandalay

Today, Prof. Boonrucksar Soonthornthum, Executive Director of the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) together with Dr. Saran Poshyachinda, Deputy Director and NARIT team continued its Burmese rendezvous by giving lectures to the audience, most of them were students from Department of Physics, University of Mandalay.

Professor Boonrucksar Soonthornthum – NARIT Executive Director, together with Dr. Saran Poshyachinda – NARIT Deputy Director led the team – for the very first time – to the cross-cultural and diverse city of the Golden Land. Aimed for the Memorandum of Understanding between NARIT and University of Mandalay to be signed as a threshold for the greater good amidst the Greater Mekong Sub-region.

9 Decades of Stellar Queen

Prof. Boonrucksar Soonthornthum, Executive Director of the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) paid homage to one of the most beloved monarchs in the world - Queen Elizabeth II today as he attended the evening celebration banquet commemorating the span of 9 decades of her glorious lifetime, held by the UK Embassy at Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok.
